  • Minimum of 7 years of science teaching experience at the high school or middle school level

Additional Qualifications and Skills:

  • Ability to lead a team of part-time educators who will be working remotely to complete concrete deliverables

  • Experience designing or hosting professional development trainings for high school or middle school educators

  • Experience with designing or redesigning curricular materials from a student-centered perspective

  • Experience conducting educational research and working with Institutional Review Boards (IRBs)

  • Interest in designing and leading research of LabXchange materials with high school and middle educators, and sharing outcomes internally so we can improve our materials to meet the needs of educators

  • Interest in cultivating relationships with educators at various levels across the country and internationally

  • Diplomacy, sound judgment, and other interpersonal skills

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, solve complex problems, ability to identify and pursue critical paths toward concrete goals

  • Entrepreneurial spirit and interest in working in a fast-paced start-up environment

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multiple stakeholders

Additional Information:

This is a benefits-eligible term appointment ending 2/28/2025, with the possibility of renewal based on business needs and continued funding.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

Educator Professional Development Programming

  • Lead the design and execution of professional development training opportunities for a global audience of educators to strengthen their online and hybrid teaching skills.

  • Identify the training needs of the LabXchange educator community as well as opportunities to expand programming in priority areas such as inclusive STEM teaching practices and integration of data science into STEM.

  • Engage and manage consultants and invited speakers to collaborate on development of training programs where specific expertise is needed that is unavailable in-house.

  • Develop customized training programs for school districts, programs and organizations that meet the specific training needs of their STEM educators, administrators, and staff.

  • Leverage opportunities to expand the reach of LabXchange through co-creation and/or delivery of professional development training to collaborator teacher networks and other local communities of practice.

  • Collaborate with the content and curation teams to create content (e.g. videos, annotated videos, text, images, pathways, clusters, etc.) and build on-demand learning experiences to support educator training programs.

Educator Engagement

  • Build collaborations at the school, district, state, and government levels to promote the adoption of LabXchange in both formal and informal education settings.

  • Cultivate connections with educator networks in the U.S. and other key markets to promote LabXchange programming and resources to a wide range of educators.

  • Collaborate with the communications team to develop messaging and collateral for outreach that resonates with educators and education professionals.

  • Present and coordinate exhibitions at key national and international conferences, both in person and virtual, to connect with educators and raise the visibility of LabXchange.

LabXchange Ambassadors

  • Create the strategic vision for growing an impactful teacher collaborator program (LabXchange ambassadors) to build a rewarding professional development opportunity for teachers and a strong educator network for LabXchange.

  • Recruit, train, and manage LabXchange ambassadors to assist with content creation, content review, and delivery of professional development workshops.

  • Lead monthly meetings with teachers to develop the ambassador community, solicit ambassador feedback on product and content development, and provide customized professional development and/or training for ambassadors.

Research and Evaluation

  • Collaborate with content, product, and collaboration teams to identify research questions and evaluate actionable outcomes resulting from findings.

  • Plan and conduct pilot studies in secondary and undergraduate classrooms to assess the impact of LabXchange and/or its content on educator and student outcomes.

  • Document the results of pilot studies, both for internal and external dissemination.

Content

  • Collaborate with LabXchange ambassadors and the content team to create teacher-specific content (e.g. teacher guides, annotated videos) that supports the use of LabXchange and its interactive content.

  • Advise LabXchange content collaborators who are interested in expanding their residential programming and/or teacher support materials.
