Robert Half Full Charge Bookkeeper in Cambridge, Massachusetts

Description

· Manage billing and collection process including:

o Preparing individual billing statements for consumers and ensuring at all times, that the management of receivables is performed in compliance with the Family and East End House Tuition Agreement and Policy

o Manage outstanding accounts receivable including updating payment status and providing detailed aging to CEO monthly

o Work with Senior Finance Director and CEO to be sure that collection rates are high

· Overseeing payroll administration process including:

o ensuring appropriate pay rates and deductions;

o Assisting in ensuring all necessary paperwork and documents are in place for

o new hires, particularly in conjunction with the processing of payroll

o Assist in tracking any new requirements and regulations regarding payroll or benefit administration to ensure East End House is in compliance with new regulations and/or relevant best practices (i.e., new minimum wage requirements, etc.); also ensure that any new requirements are implemented in a planful, timely, efficient and effective way

o Support Senior Finance Director in processing of payroll

o Supporting Senior Finance director in the payables and disbursement process including managing accounts payable aging

· Generating financial reports from QuickBooks Online (QBO) and support the monthly close by performing monthly account reconciliations of specified accounts such as bank and credit card

· Work with the Senior Finance Director to support agency’s annual audit

preparation and process;

· Assist as needed in the preparation of budgets;

· Conduct proper tracking and post accounting entries for outstanding grants management;

· Consult and assist in other areas as needed by the Senior Finance Director and CEO;

· The Accountant is not a supervisory or regular staff position and will not perform any functions that are the responsibility of directors or managers; this includes the consultation with staff on time sheets, benefits, sick, vacation and comp time, and other similar areas.

Requirements

Qualifications:

· Strong hands-on accounting knowledge and skills a must

· A minimum of five years of work experience in comparable roles

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, financial management, or comparable field preferred

· Professionalism and excellent people skills; customer service focused

· Excellent verbal/written communications skill

· Strong work ethic and attention to detail required

· Demonstrated skill working with financial information and maintaining records

· Requires a high level of proficiency in QuickBooks/QuickBooks Online, Excel and Word

· Highly proactive and action-oriented

· Demonstrated ability to follow through on tasks assigned

· Superior organizational skills

· Good interpersonal skills and works very well in a team

· Desire for professional growth and to accept increasing responsibilities

· A Criminal Offenders Records Information and Sexual Offenders Records Information request must be completed
