The Opportunity

Abt Global seeks an agile and creative Climate Business Strategist to advance its positioning to deliver cutting-edge climate and environment services to clients and support Abt’s corporate response to climate change. In this role, the Climate Business Strategist will work across Climate Office objectives to facilitate creation of internal alignment and mobilization tools, inform external positioning and messaging, enhance climate integration capacity, and advance internal decarbonization efforts. This work will span all Abt’s markets across U.S. Domestic and Global Development portfolios.

The Climate Business Strategist will be part of a team developing and coordinating content and assets from across Abt, liaising between Abt’s Chief Climate Officer Group, division staff implementing programs, and Abt’s corporate communications teams to enhance Abt’s go-to-market strategy.

Core Responsibilities

  • Analyze market data, trends and intelligence and distill actionable recommendations to inform Abt’s go-to-market strategy.

  • Curate and facilitate development of tools and assets to enhance Abt’s value proposition to clients.

  • Provide cutting-edge, trend-informed strategic guidance on messaging and positioning tactics in the marketplace.

  • Standup processes and tools to drive engagement and coordination across Abt’s climate and environment teams.

  • Coordinate with embedded marketing partners and Abt’s divisions and subsidiaries to surface content and develop products that elevate Abt’s voice in the climate and environment market and Abt’s climate capabilities across all adjacent domains.

  • Create and maintain messages (e.g., talking points, statements, battle cards)

  • Support Abt’s GHG inventory management processes, and development and execution of a robust internal communications and engagement strategy focused on Abt’s corporate climate and decarbonization strategy.

  • Contribute to Abt’s planning and preparation for major global forums and conferences, including the UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties.

What We Value

  • Bachelor’s Degree + 3 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree

  • Relationship building, interpersonal skills. Strong ability to work independently and deliver as a key member of a team.

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, urban affairs/planning, sustainability studies, physical sciences, sociology, engineering, business administration, or other relevant disciplines.

  • Relevant experience in climate change mitigation, adaptation, renewable energy, health, private sector, and/or market development.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to prioritize and manage competing deadlines. Strong project management and organization skills.

  • Ability to synthesize complex information into actionable and compelling messages and narratives.

  • Demonstrated business acumen and business development skills.

  • Demonstrated results in writing and developing concise, compelling communication products and outreach campaigns, ideally for U.S. government programs.

  • Team player; able to work collaboratively with multicultural teams in virtual/in-person settings.

This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of approximately $70,000 to $100,000, and may vary by ten percent depending on candidate geographic location. Salary offers are made based on internal equity and market analysis.
