To deliver Precision Medicines for Neuroscience requires building a data-driven strategy that integrates the deep expertise held collectively across multiple teams: regulatory, clinical development, discovery, biomarkers, statistics, data science, modeling and simulation. We believe that it is how we combine our collective strengths together that sets Johnson & Johnson apart. This outstanding leader will be a member of Neuroscience Precision Measures team, leading large-scale programs that integrate diverse colleagues and capabilities to both establish strategic frameworks and drive programs delivering our precision neuroscience strategy. This role requires meaningful experience in pharmaceutical drug development and knowledge of how data science integrates along the pharmaceutical pipeline to drive value.

Key Responsibilities:

The candidate will provide strategic direction within the extended, cross-functional Neuroscience team, ensuring clear prioritization and communication of impact across the organization, connecting the dots between strategy, project and execution. This role with have responsibility for integration and execution of strategy for key large-scale programs established to connect the Neuroscience Therapeutic Area and Functional partners towards initiatives in Neuropsychiatry and Neurodegeneration. This role will have additional responsibility for alignment with teams across the data science organization.

  • Partner closely with the Head of Neuroscience Precision Measures team to manage the portfolio and its integration into Neuroscience clinical programs.

  • Liaise with Disease Area Leaders to ensure the Neuroscience Precision Measures strategy is defined, reviewed, communicated, refreshed and aligned with TA strategy.

  • Provides strategic input, and maintains a high degree of expertise on the internal and external environment in order to routinely analyze opportunities for potential impact. Helps to develop insightful and meaningful messaging for Business Planning, governance and Senior Management review.

  • Partner closely extended functional leads, especially the Head of Neuroscience Data Science and Digital Health to optimize integration towards Neuroscience pipeline delivery short- and long-term.

  • Provides leadership and co-leadership for larger scale Neuroscience and Disease Area priority programs establishing a precision measurement pipeline. Initiatives require aligning diverse capabilities, understanding partner requirements, the tie in to strategy, and the ability to lead teams of leaders. Create structure from ambiguity.

Qualifications

Required:

  • A minimum of a Master's degree is required, with at least 8 years of relevant work experience. Quantitative degree in data science, engineering of the physical sciences, MBA, or other area demonstrating ability to translate quantitative sciences into business impact.

  • Extensive track record in strategic leadership delivering business impact from data.

  • Experience with biomarkers, data science and digital technology, and/or Neuroscience experience is preferred.

  • Big picture orientation with solid attention to detail is required.

  • A results and performance drive focus with a solid sense of accountability is required.

  • Self-motivated with a high level of comfort operating as an independent worker in an entrepreneurial environment is required.

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex scientific, portfolio and financial information and develop actionable insights are required.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas and strategic insights clearly and persuasively are required.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate, consult and communicate effectively in a global matrix environment, with the ability to influence partners at all levels of hierarchy, regardless of authority is required.

Preferred:

  • Background and experience working in Biomarkers, Translational Science, Digital Health or Data Science.

  • Business degree or comparable experience.

  • Familiarity with clinical development processes.

  • Up to 10% yearly travel is required (International, Domestic).
