Responsibilities

Are you passionate about computer security? Does the idea of working at the system level on Windows or Linux excite you? Do you have experience in virtualization and/or confidential computing technologies like AMD SEV-SNP or Intel TDX? How about Confidential GPU? Does the idea of securing AI systems give you chills? Do you take pride in designing secure systems and writing secure code? The Edge Security Platform team in the Azure Edge + Platform Group is looking for a talented, creative, motivated and driven software engineer to push the security bar of Microsoft products to a new level. The Edge Security Team’s mission is to make Edge Devices and Azure cloud servers the most secure and trustworthy computing devices in the world. This team owns the Microsoft device security strategy and is focused on building state of the art security systems for a wide variety of Microsoft’s current and future products.

As part of this team, you will work on building complete security solutions. You will have the opportunity to work on one or more layers of the security stack, ranging from Confidential Virtual Machines and Confidential GPUs to secure high value assets at the edge to mission critical online services for supporting these types of security technologies. In addition to ample design and coding opportunities, you will interact with and learn from the best system designers in the world, both from Microsoft and from global companies across the technology spectrum working on cutting edge processors and GPUs, Windows, Linux, and related projects. Qualifications

Required:

  • A BS/MS in computer science or related field

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Software design, coding, debugging and problem solving skills

  • Extensive years' of experience working on commercial software development

  • Extensive years' Experience developing software in Rust/C/C++ Work effectively in collaboration with other engineers and program managers.

  • Ability to convey complex concepts effectively

  • Ability to collaborate effectively across various teams, fostering productive partnerships.

Preferred: (Optional qualifications that can be improved on the job)

  • Experience working on computer security

  • Knowledge of computer architecture, operating system kernel, and hypervisors.

  • Knowledge of building and maintaining mission critical online services

  • Experience in developing & creating platforms

  • Knowledge of security hardware such as TPM.

Cloud Background check:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.

Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
