Position: Product Manager – Unified Supply Chain

Previous experience: Extensive working knowledge of refining operations and Oil & Gas value chain software solutions. Strong commercial awareness and first-hand experience in business development roles.

Location: Cambridge Science Park – Hybrid (3 days at the office)

Employment type: Full-time regular (flexible working options available)

The job

The Product Manager is responsible for managing AVEVA Unified Supply Chain throughout the full product lifecycle, gathering and prioritising product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with software development teams to deliver market-winning products. The Product Manager collaborates with business segment leaders, sales, marketing, development, and other Product Managers to ensure the company’s overall strategic, revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.

The candidate will work in the Portfolio Management team alongside other Product Managers and will be responsible for AVEVA’s Unified Supply Chain technology. The candidate must be an evangelist representing the business and market needs for their defined product, managing the voice of the customer, identifying the problem areas and business opportunity for AVEVA in support of AVEVA’s strategic plans.

A key element of this role is to help AVEVA’s customers accelerate their digital transformation journeys by seamlessly integrating their planning, scheduling, assay and supply and distribution business processes through AVEVA Unified Supply Chain cloud-based technologies.

It is an expectation that operating in a global digital workplace with travel to customers, partners, prospects, AVEVA offices, and events will be a requirement to successfully executing this role.

Key responsibilities

  • Define the product strategy and roadmap, ensuring investments are prioritised in alignment with market requirements.

  • Evaluate/monitor existing and potential competitive products and develop strategies to win more market share.

  • Responsible for product positioning in the marketplace and assisting with overall business plans.

  • Actively work with sales and marketing by performing product demos for prospects and existing users.

  • Prepare and guide objectives for the development and marketing during all phases of the product/program, including new product introduction, to ensure maximum penetration of the market segment.

  • Prioritise features for each release with corresponding justification.

  • Collaborate with a variety of functional areas to develop and provide product definitions that respond to customer needs and market opportunities.

  • Act as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding.

  • Plan, develop, and implement sales tools to support the product business and marketing plan, including briefing and training the sales force throughout the year.

  • Propose an overall product investment budget to ensure success.

  • Set pricing to meet revenue and profitability goals.

  • Represent Unified Supply Chain at selected industry conferences and technical committees through attendance, presentations, and white papers.

Ideal experience

  • Extensive working knowledge of refining operations and Oil & Gas value chain software solutions.

  • Strong commercial awareness and first-hand experience in business development roles.

  • A proven track record in developing and implementing strategic plans for the development and/or adoption of Oil & Gas value chain solutions.

  • Experience of implementing and utilisation of supply chain solutions in an operating company or consultancy environment would be considered beneficial.

  • Ability to develop recommendations based on rigorous analytics, financial modelling, and a thorough understanding of detailed implementation requirements and risks.

  • Ability to work effectively in a lean, entrepreneurial, global, and highly matrixed environment.

  • Self-starter with a sense of urgency and an ability to work at executive and technical level within our client base in industries served by AVEVA.

  • Results orientation that is balanced between both long-term objectives and short-term performance.

  • Must be able to travel 30% of the time.

  • Have a deep knowledge of the business processes, information flow, and management practices for your marketplace.

  • High drive, commitment, and energy within a fast-paced, challenging environment.
