Job Description

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for the sales of the organization's products in the western region of the United States. This position sells the Company's products and services using technical, organizational, and customer knowledge to influence customers and assist them in applying the products/services to their needs resulting in revenue generation. In addition, the position provides input and participates in the marketing, market planning, and technical development of products and services.

  • Research customer needs and develop application of products and services in an effective manner. The person will:

  • Determine market strategies and goals for each product and service

  • Obtain and coordinate data and information from staff and member groups

  • Research and develop contacts of current and potential customers

  • Do market research to determine customer needs and provide information to other staff

  • Evaluate product and service marketability in terms of customers’ technical needs

  • Follow up on sales leads and develop new leads

  • Maintain up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical developments that effect target markets

  • Establish and maintain industry contacts that lead to sales

  • Work with marketing, sales support and staff to establish a communication path with the customer to ensure sales opportunities for products and services.

  • Develop and deliver sales presentations and close sales in a professional and effective manner by:

  • Developing sales and marketing proposals for customers on technical products and services

  • Making presentations to users

  • Developing technical presentations and workshops

  • Maintaining up-to-date awareness of activities, industry trends and government regulations

  • Making regular sales calls to develop relationships and follow up on leads

  • Acting to close deals and finalize contracts

  • Meeting established sales quotas and revenue goals

  • Participate in sales forecasting and planning in an effective manner by:

  • Researching, developing and maintaining long and short range sales and marketing plans

  • Producing regular reports and final plans for Manager’s approval

  • Maintaining an up-to-date awareness of strategic plans and procedures to coordinate market plans

  • Monitoring, analyzing, and communicating sales data, via contact management software, to contribute to product/service planning

  • Develop and maintain communications in a cooperative and professional manner with all levels of staff and customers

  • Communicating openly, honestly and constructively

  • Treating all employees and customers with dignity, respect and courtesy

  • Taking responsibility for and making every effort to resolve communication, trust and respect concerns and problems

  • Asking for information needed to perform job responsibilities

  • Work closely with and set goals for Manufacturers Representatives

  • Work closely with and train franchised distributor network

  • Performs other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of sales experience with a semiconductor organization. Familiarity in RF Semiconductors, Power Semiconductors, Microprocessors and Data Converters preferred.

  • Demonstrated problem solving and negotiation skills.

  • Experience with semiconductor sales in the aerospace and defense industry

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Excellent formal presentation skills before both small and large groups.

  • Experience managing large territories and diverse product offerings.

  • Coaching/mentoring experience with less senior sales staff.

  • A demonstrable capacity to keep abreast of new technology trends, association needs and possible application to real world projects.

Salary Range:

$149,600.00-$199,980.000

The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
