About the Role:

  • Our strategy aims to make Diageo stronger in the TBA arena by democratizing International spirits, reigniting deluxe scotch, and fueling the luxury world.

  • With the ambition of tripling our share of serves, we are recruiting from Premium beer and local spirits, building brands in more segments and categories.

  • The progress already attained in the last years; shows we are on the right track where value share of spirits increased from 16.2% to 18.4%.

  • This has been achieved by having whisky as the fastest growing major category (+20% vol YTD) with special contributions from a nascent primary segment.

  • To win share from TBA having strong brands is not enough, we need to guarantee we are relevant in each step of consumer journey providing the best, seamless experience from pre-store (to ensure best salience possible, associating brands to relevant occasions today and with clear benefits for shoppers to decide better) to physical or digital instore (ensure first place visibility, provide an excuse to buy and articulate very clearly brand benefits as shopper needs to feel he/she is making an intelligent purchase).

  • The South Business Unit accounts for the 40% of our sales, mainly with our #1 distributor: Altipal who is also accountable of commercial execution in the channels / geographies assigned to them.

Ensure the business model in the pacific region, which is the second zone for the Business Unit, with 212k EUs (32%). The complexity in this region is around the competence which has been working consistent and aggressive in the last 6 years and with the pandemic, our relationships with the trade become even further.

The Sales Area Manager represents Diageo towards our Customers in the region, working in partnership with the distributor team, and is accountable of the end-to-end commercial agenda.

Creates and executes the region business plan, maximizing the commercial opportunity to win share and exponentially grow the business.

About you:

  • Win share and beat the plan in terms of sales, distribution, brand activation and commercial standards execution. Ensure no “Out of Stocks”, sustainable “Rate of Sales”, and “Stock in Trade” via “Sell Out Plans”. Reputation: become referred supplier for our top customer across channels/regions.

  • Bring “Customer Centric Approach” to all conversations and have a clear understanding of the competitor landscape.

  • Unleash the power and pride of the commercial ecosystem improving and simplifying processes and developing leadership and functional capabilities across the distributor´s region team.
