PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for the planning, execution, delivery and ongoing support of the Signals and Communications materials portfolio. This portfolio includes support in capital and maintenance materials planning, purchasing, expediting and reconciliation. This position will report into the Procurement Senior Manager.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Responsible for Signals and Communications repairable and outright procurement portfolio

  • Daily monitoring and action of MRP generated purchase requisitions

  • Provide end-user customer support and training on Sourcing to Pay processes

  • Maintain ongoing communications with suppliers and vendors regarding costs, quality, quantity, and on time delivery of goods

  • Determine and establish optimal inventory levels based on forecast, demand variation and material lead times

  • Manage and resolve issues regarding PO (Purchase Order) to invoice discrepancies, returns and quality problems with suppliers

  • Coordinate and communicate on various initiatives with other team members and cross functionally

  • Collaborate with working teams to define and execute different project initiatives

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Post-Secondary Education preferably a University Degree (Business, Supply Chain, Finance or Engineering an asset)

  • 3+ years of experience in procurement and/or inventory management

  • SAP/ERP experience

  • Good understanding of supply management

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Ability to multitask and move a variety of initiatives forward at the same time

  • Ability to develop and deliver informal and formal presentations and business cases on a port-folio specific topics in a credible and confident manner

  • Ability to demonstrate customer service focus

  • Ability to build consensus, influence and resolve conflict
