Heidelberg Materials is seeking a responsible, safe, and dependable Welder to join our local team. In this position you will be responsible for preventative maintenance and repair work on all site mechanical equipment.

What You'll Get To Do

• Maintain, repair, troubleshoot, install and apply preventative maintenance systems on a wide variety of equipment

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints

• Hoisting and rigging

• Perform scheduled preventative and breakdown maintenance work

• Consult manufacturer’s manuals to determine maintenance procedures

• Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations, and with Company policies and procedures.

What We Are Looking For

• Valid interprovincial or Red Seal Level A Welder

• Experience working in a heavy industrial / manufacturing environment.

• Experience with arc welding (SMAW), wire feed welding (GMAW)

• Fabrication experience would be an asset

• Experience with process equipment would be and asset (i.e. jaw crusher, cone crushers, screens, etc.)

• Must have proven safety record and history of being a team player

• Strong written and oral communication skills

• Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy loads, sometimes 75+ lbs.

• Able to work inside and outside in year-round weather conditions

• Requires lifting, kneeling, bending, twisting, pushing and pulling, working at elevated heights, at times in tight and awkward positions.
