POSITION OVERVIEW:

Startec Refrigeration Service is currently recruiting a Technical Sales Representative to work at our Shepard Office location (9423 Shepard Rd SE, Calgary, AB, T2C 4R6) .   The Technical Sales Representative is responsible for driving Startec Refrigeration Service’s growth by combining technical expertise and sales skills. Responsibilities will include staying attuned to industry trends, collaborating with Account Managers to develop innovative solutions to the customers’ industrial refrigeration needs, preparing quotes and maintaining customer relationships. Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Technical Sales Representative will work closely with and support Account Managers, Customers and Technicians requiring technical and sales support. Additionally, the Technical Sales Representative will be required to occasionally travel to support customers’ and technicians' needs and requirements.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPI):

CUSTOMER SERVICE (Weighting 45%) Customer Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, understanding their needs and preferences.

  • Regularly communicate with customers to understand their ongoing needs and provide timely support and guidance.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor, offering technical expertise, product recommendations, and industry insights.

  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries, concerns, and requests.

  • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the sales process.

    Customer Engagement

  • Effectively communicate product features, benefits, and technical specifications to customers.

  • Understand customer needs and provide tailored solutions based on their requirements.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, including contractors, consultants, and facility managers.

  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries, provide technical information, and offer guidance throughout the sales process.

  • Conduct product presentations to showcase the value and benefits of industrial refrigeration solutions.

    SALES PROCESS MANAGEMENT (Weighting 45%) Consultative Selling

  • Understand customer requirements and provide appropriate solutions for their refrigeration needs.

  • Conduct product presentations and demonstrations, showcasing the features and benefits of industrial refrigeration systems and services.

  • Collaborate with Account Managers and Customers to develop customized solutions that align with their specific requirements.

    Quotes & Proposal Development

  • Prepare accurate, comprehensive quotes/proposals based on customer specifications and project requirements.

  • Collaborate with internal teams, such as engineers and estimators, to gather necessary information for quoting purposes.

    ADMINISTRATION (Weighting 10%) Sales Administration

  • Coordinate with the sales team to ensure seamless communication and support.

  • Enter and update customer information and sales activities in the CRM system.

  • Assist in forecasting sales targets and tracking sales metrics

    Market Research & Competitive Analysis

  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor offerings, and market developments

  • Gather and analyze market data to identify potential opportunities and areas for growth

  • Provide feedback and insights to the sales and marketing teams for strategic decision-making

    QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Journeyman Refrigeration Mechanic or equivalent with experience in recreational and ammonia service gas field experience or both.

  • Minimum 5+ years of working experience in the trades industry

  • Minimum 3+ years of working experience in a customer service or sales capacity role.

  • In-depth technical knowledge of refrigeration systems, components, and products.

  • Strong understanding of Ammonia refrigeration, energy-efficient solutions, and environmental regulations.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

  • Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills.

  • Proficiency in CRM software and MS Office Suite

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

  • Availability for occasional travel to client sites and industry events

  • Valid driver's license.
