Job Title: Forklift Operator

Job Description

Contractors will be working loading and unloading trailers on a dock using a sit-down counterbalance forklift. They will be on the forklift 80-90% of the time and on their feet to write manifests. There will be 50 lbs of heavy lifting, but it won’t be continuous. They will be using an RF scanner and need to have basic computer skills. Attention to detail is crucial to ensure the freight is going to the right place.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trailers on a dock using a sit-down counterbalance forklift.

• Operate the forklift 80-90% of the time.

• Handle heavy lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally.

• Use an RF scanner for inventory management.

• Maintain attention to detail to ensure accurate freight delivery.

Essential Skills

• 2 years of recent experience operating a sit-down counterbalance forklift.

• Forklift Certification.

• Experience with RF scanning.

• Attention to detail and ability to read and interpret manifests.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Basic computer skills.

• Experience in shipping and receiving.

• Material handling and cross-docking knowledge.

• High school diploma preferred.

Work Environment

The pay range for this position is $25.46 - $25.46/hr.
