Canadian Tire eCommerce Site Merchandiser in Calgary, Alberta

What you’ll do

The eCommerce Merchandising Specialist will be responsible for the online maintenance and merchandising to drive online sales for our eCommerce sites (SportChek.ca and Atmosphere.ca). A strong focus for this role will be creating a best-in-class customer experience through data-driven insights and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The successful candidate will also be responsible for mapping, sourcing, governing, and optimizing digital content for efficient distribution across channels. A customer-first mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced team is key.

Some key responsibilities include:

  • Sourcing, processing, and managing content across banner websites and other digital media and channels.

  • Merchandising the websites products to maximize sales & improve conversion rate. Including organization, categorization, colour selection, cross-sells/recommendations, bundles & taxonomy.

  • Building, managing & maintaining SEO optimized landing pages for promotional offers, brand campaigns & search results.

  • Partner with cross-functional team members to develop key concepts, marketing stories and site optimization efforts to provide the best-in-class customer experience.

  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders in Purchasing, IT and Operations to create alignment and procedures/processes, while maintaining a customer first mindset.

  • Leverage customer insights, analytics, research and reporting functions to support decision making, analyzing results and provide new opportunities for growth.

What you bring

  • Post-Secondary Education in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications or related field.

  • Minimum 2 years work experience in eCommerce, merchandising, web retail, marketing, content management, visual communications, or related field.

  • Background in retail, or product related areas.

  • Experience in web marketing, and/or data administration.

  • Proficiency with Content Management Systems, HTML and other web technologies.

  • Firm understanding of interactive marketing and online media.

  • Experience with software such as Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel.

  • Creativity and courageous, with the ability to manage in an environment of change and ambiguity to help us take bold, strategic moves in this rapidly evolving retail environment.

  • Action oriented, and comfortable taking calculated risks to better serve our customers and business.

  • Outcome focused, critical thinkers with the ability to analyze and visualize, to ensure continuous improvement across our entire business.

  • Collaborative team players with superior influencing skills, who build relationships easily across various stakeholder groups to move initiatives forward.
