Job Description

WHAT'S THE JOB?

Summary: Reporting to Director of Sales, WAFES, Western Canada this fulltime position is responsible for obtaining profitable results ensuring sales, revenue growth, and client retention strategies are met. The Director, Business Development will be a key contributor in the development and execution of Horizon North’s sales strategy. This role will oversee market analysis, identifying emerging industry trends, and defining the vision, strategies and tactics to ensure Horizon North’s success.

This role performs some or all the following duties:

  • Develop sales strategies, techniques, and tactics based on advice, customer feedback, and the market environment.

  • Identify and engage opportunities to grow the business, offer value-added solutions and increase product adoption.

  • Hunt and report on long lead sales opportunities.

  • Maintain a high level of customer service and product and service knowledge.

  • Sell all equipment and services under the WAFES portfolio.

  • Work with Operations, Estimating, and Proposals teams to develop solutions for clients and prepare accurate and professional quotes.

  • Coordinate closely with Indigenous Relations team, to further strategic initiatives within Indigenous communities and support the interests of Indigenous peoples.

  • Keep abreast of competition and report on known activities.

  • Assist in the development of the quarterly and annual forecasting for each product and service.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to ensure a broad reach of clientele for the diverse product line.

  • Establish the metrics required to measure business performance and recommend go-forward strategy to address performance gaps.

  • Develop short and long-term sales plans for the sales portfolio.

  • Focus around utilizing the CRM tool to track activity, sales pipeline, and win/loss reports.

  • Responsible for managing (along with the Director of Sales) the Strategic Account – Account Management process. This includes sales strategy, adherence to the HN Sales Methodology, and communication to the Executive Sponsors.

  • Keep abreast of market trends and regulatory changes to allow Horizon North to properly respond to economic, technological, and industry changes.

  • Represent and promote Horizon North throughout industry and develop strategic relationships with governmental and regulatory decision makers.

  • Provide weekly activity reports to management.

  • Process necessary paperwork to initiate contracts.

  • Investigate and pursue new business and new investment opportunities.

  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Qualifications

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • University degree or technical diploma in commerce, business administration, engineering or

  • related field is an asset;

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in sales and/or business development;

  • Proven sales experience with a demonstrated capacity to mentor peers with a team approach;

  • Previous sales experience in the oil & gas industry, preferably in the general oil and gas service sector and specifically in oilfields rentals or workforce accommodations is an asset; and

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be flexible to travel.
