Canadian Tire Commercial Planning Analyst in Calgary, Alberta

What you’ll do

The Commercial Planning Analyst is responsible for optimizing the order to cash timeline to achieve agreed service level objectives from order confirmation to customer invoicing, along with inventory levels required to deliver that objective. This position creates an ROI for Mark's Commercial through the effective use of both cross dock and storage channel execution, which includes forecasting demand and supply to satisfy existing and future customer orders representing the consumer demand for commercial merchandise that is available to customers through pick up at store and ship to customer channels.

  • Contribute to the development of Commercial Assortment plans by leveraging analytics to make recommendations; collaborate with business partners to identify replenishment styles, prioritize key 'end use' requirements and styles, and define seasonal inventory requirements.

  • Develop fulfillment and deployment plans to support ongoing business plans by collaborating with business partners to define low level inventory strategies for replenishment; validate and implement new item forecasts; calibrate parameters to determine appropriate inventory levels; and perform / share plan analysis findings.

  • Source inventory from suppliers to execute fulfillment plans by collaboratively developing inventory strategies; validate and implement new item forecasts; calibrate parameters to determine appropriate inventory levels; validate and approve transfers to fulfillment centers from distribution centers and purchase orders from suppliers that will satisfy customer demand and sales orders; identify and address exceptions; and coordinate the resolution of routine issues.

  • Deploy inventory from shipments, warehouses, and the fulfillment centers to execute plans to fill sales orders by collaboratively developing inventory strategies; validate and implement new item forecasts; calibrate parameters to determine appropriate inventory levels; validate, approve, firm, and confirm planned purchase orders, planned inbound transfers

  • Optimize supply chain execution by selecting and using channels and processes that are best suited to achieve sales, in-stock, and efficiency objectives; consider supply chain and capacity constraints, as well as use of available throughput according to the weekly production plan.

  • Develop and communicate merchandise financial plans for commercial, merchandise assortment plans for commercial, and merchandise sales demand forecasts and fulfillment replenishment plan for commercial.

  • Daily analysis and optimization of inbound and outbound flow

  • Provide and support the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders.

  • Demonstrate leadership and expertise in the development, execution, and improvement of fulfillment plans by providing guidance to others; support and align efforts to elevate the customer experience.

What you bring

  • University or college degree in the related discipline or high school diploma combined with equivalent work experience.

  • 1 – 3 years minimum of experience in Product Analysis, Purchasing or Supply Chain, preferably in a corporate environment.

  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact and collaborate with all teams and levels of business.

  • Knowledge of office productivity software, statistical packages, inventory management systems and ad hoc query tools is an asset. E.g. AX Dynamics 365, DBVisualizer, KNIME, MS Excel, PMM

  • Strong analytical, planning and communication skills.

  • Proficiency in supply chain systems, and standard office software, demonstrated excel capability, experience in reporting and analytics, knowledge of inventory management systems.

  • Working knowledge in D365 and PMM and other software related to the fulfillment is an asset.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in inventory practices with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts.

  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with a variety of people, and work as a member of a team or independently as required. Ability to prioritize, multi-task and work with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to handle a variety of task simultaneously
