Barista, Mollie’s Market

We are welcoming a Barista to join our brand-new team and VCA family at Mollie’s Market. As our first-ever purpose-built community hub, we see our coffee shop as a central part of our plans to bring both coffee lovers and pet lovers together under one roof.

The Barista will work under the direction of the Café Manager to prepare and serve hot and cold beverages at Mollie’s Market Café and to provide exceptional service to guests. The successful candidate must be passionate about providing guests with seamless, positive experiences through excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greeting customers and taking, preparing, and serving orders.

• Receiving and processing payments using the café's point of sale system.

• Demonstrating exceptional knowledge of our menu, answering questions about and recommending drink and menu options.

• Maintaining high standards of customer service, cleanliness, quality, accuracy, and speed of food and drink preparation.

• Complying with health and safety, and food service standards.

• Maintaining a clean and organized café environment.

What You Bring:

• You are customer-service driven, apply a sales-focused approach, work responsibly and achieve goals in a timely manner.

• Excellent interpersonal skills and can engage with a diverse range of customers.

• Good attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Knowledge of coffee preparation, strong understanding of espresso and drip coffee methods and ensuring the highest quality service to our guests.

• A strong understanding of cafe operations and food services preparation, including safe food handling skills and café equipment.

Qualifications:

• Previous retail, hospitality, and/or customer service experience preferred.

• Ability to multitask and problem-solve on the spot.

• Excellent communication skills and customer service.

• FoodSafe Level 1 is a bonus.
