PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

The PEGA Business Analyst (BA) is responsible to fulfill a wide variety of business process management, business analysis and architecture activities using various tools and the PEGA platform. The main focus of the BA is to help support the improvement of processes, through the implementation of PEGA technology, working closely with business teams to gather user requirements and use PEGA technologies to effectively meet the business needs.

This fixed term position is based in Calgary, Alberta.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Participate in scope definition workshops for MVP (Minimum Viable Product) and lead the delivery of the completed work that includes, defined objectives, documented business requirements and translated business outcomes, test scope, acceptance criteria, use cases, and ensure testing conducted according to plan

  • Work with the business teams in collecting requirements using various elicitation techniques, conduct requirements analysis and blueprinting sessions with Internal customers, document as-is business process flows and provide solution options and recommendations with a to-be state using Direct Capture of Objectives (DCO) within the PEGA Platform

  • Lead DCO sessions, maintain the functional backlog, and support functional design ensuring efficient use of PEGA functionality adhering to guardrails and bridging the gap between business and IT Stakeholders

  • Collaborate with SMEs (Subject Matter Expert) across the business to ensure that the business functions of the delivered solution match the requirements and understand/identify process reuse opportunities

  • Partner with multiple teams to develop high quality work across all phases of a project including but not limited to scope definition, requirements analysis, functional and technical design, application build, product configuration, unit testing, functional/SIT and UAT and production deployment

  • Develop and maintain detailed process flows, user interface mockups, high level user documents and other documentation to support the design and implementation of PEGA solutions

  • Support the Senior Business Architect and Lead Business Architect with conducting impact assessment for existing applications and any improvement requests made by business including the cost benefit analysis

  • Participate in the establishment and continuous review and improvement of Business Analysis standards, procedures, and processes. Work within an agile environment to identify and document client-centric workflow and case management needs (cutting across functional and business unit silos as needed)

  • Be available for 24x7 on-call support as needed on a weekly rotation basis

  • The role incumbent will have to achieve the PEGA Business Architect Certification within one year of hire date

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree or diploma in business, computer science or a related subject area

  • 2+ years Business Analysis experience

  • Experience/Knowledge of both agile and waterfall methodologies and supporting tools such as Jira or Microsoft tools

  • Experience crafting wire frames, mockup screens

  • Experience producing and reviewing system and feature level documentation for complex initiatives

  • Good understanding of the User Experience (UX) and design thinking concepts

  • Experience with PEGA Business Architecture is an asset
