Cherry Hill Farms, Inc. seeks an Assistant Crew Boss in Caldwell, Idaho. Duties: (1) Directly supervise and coordinate the activities of agricultural crop worker in smaller groups to oversee and supervise the team in aspects of pruning, thinning, and harvesting the crops; (2) Train team members in techniques such as pruning, thinning, and harvesting the crops and in the use of safety measures; (3) Confer with managers to evaluate weather and soil conditions, to develop plans and procedures, and to discuss issues pertaining to the pruning, thinning, and harvesting the crops; (4) Inspect orchards, fields, and crops to determine conditions and need for spraying, pruning, thinning, and harvesting; (5) Review and evaluate the quality and quantity of work performed by team members; and (6) Such other related duties as assigned. Requirements: (1) 18 months experience working as an Assistant Crew Boss, Farmworker, Crop Laborer, or related occupation; (2) Demonstrated working knowledge and understanding of fruit tree farming practices; (3) Demonstrated ability to: (a) communicate, explain, and teach the farming culture and practices to subordinates; and (b) solve problems that arise in a small scale of larger farming operations and make suggestions to superiors and subordinates to solve such problems.
