THE ROLE

The Senior Production Purchasing Manager will be responsible for supporting Production Operations with purchase requests from key departmental stakeholders, soliciting price quotes from vendors, creating Purchase Orders, managing goods receipts, and reconciling outstanding purchase transactions. These tasks will make up the majority of a typical day. You will work in an office setting but may at times need to fulfill travel requirements and work on site. This role will supervise direct reports.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage a team of 2-4 purchasing managers, ensuring proper protocol and timely issue resolution

  • Partner with Production Operations staff to understand business needs and create purchase orders per their requirements, converting price quotes and requests to Purchase Orders

  • Record and monitor spend against budget; notify when exceeding budget

  • Reconcile invoices to Purchase Order receipts, resolving variances with Operations and vendors

  • Work with vendors to ensure they are onboarded before Purchase Orders are created

  • Raise timely and accurate Purchase Orders for time-sensitive Production needs

  • Goods Receipt Purchase Orders, ensuring timely financial recognition

  • Partner with Operations, Finance and Procurement personnel to maintain communication channels across key stakeholder departments and provide efficient and effective purchasing support

  • Ensure timely submission of documents for new vendor setup

  • Develop strong vendor relationships, ensuring win-win results

  • Train on procedures and testing related to system upgrades

  • Special projects and tasks as assigned

  • Some travel may be required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience managing direct reports

  • Prior media and entertainment production support experience preferred

  • Familiarity with event production support

  • Must have experience with creating and maintaining purchase orders

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or technical field

  • Understanding of fundamental finance and business concepts

  • Proven ability to navigate through Excel (i.e.,vlookups, pivot tables, etc.)

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Proven ability to work in a team environment

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Must be able to tolerate loud noise levels and busy environments

  • Must be willing to travel to work and travel to events during holidays, evening and weekend hours, as required, to meet deadlines and work events

Hiring Pay Range: $85,000 - $100,000 USD
