Oracle Advanced Services Engineer - Customer Success Services (CSS)- Database in CAIRO, Egypt

Job Description

What you will do

Become our customers’ trusted technical advisor and develop a deep knowledge of their systems and needs. You’ll support the operation of database on premise and in cloud, delivering services that drive customer success and innovation.

  • Improve the stability, availability, and performance of critical production databases

  • Provide operational support and engage in escalations for essential business systems.

  • Deliver assistance with software installation, configuration, health assessments, and performance reviews

  • Analyze new and complex issues, performing thorough root cause investigations

  • Review config and performance of DB

  • DBA lifecyle Support (Patching, Backup, DR configs , Upgrades, migrations) and Infra DomU patching during off hours

  • Offer problem-solving expertise while considering customer constraints and risk management

  • Deliver architecture advisory services, including reviews and conceptual support.

  • Conduct research and promptly address technical inquiries, ensuring effective communication at various organizational levels

  • Educate customers on product features, best practices, upgrades and patches

  • Work with OCI Development and Product Management for adoption of new OCI features and services

Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years PRODUCTION experience working as an Oracle DBA, in an enterprise environment and with Siebel CRM

  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills

  • Great communication skills

  • Fluent in written and spoken English

  • Strong knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL

  • Knowledge of Automation lifecycle and tools (Ansible, etc) is a plus

  • Ability to develop and troubleshoot shell scripts as needed.

  • Thorough Knowledge in RMAN backup and recovery processes and operation

  • Excellent working knowledge in DB patching

  • Thorough knowledge of DB Performance, SQL Tuning

  • Thorough knowledge of Clusterware - RAC/GRID configurations (configuration, upgrade)

  • Thorough Knowledge in Oracle Database RAC, ASM, Data Guard

  • Knowledge of migration using RMAN, datapump and export/import

  • Knowledge of Exadata operations (patching, upgrades, node addition, storage cell addition and storage configuration)

  • Experience with Enterprise Manager for monitoring and administering mission critical databases

  • Experience with e-Business & Technology patching and upgrades is a plus

  • Knowledge of Golden Gate and Oracle Gateway is a plus

  • Overall knowledge of Cloud Computing

  • Experience in any Unix shell scripting

  • Knowledge of Perl script and Python is a plus
