Splunk Sr Revenue Analyst in CA, United States

Splunk is looking for a strong Senior Revenue Analyst to join our high-impacting Global Deal Assurance team as we strive to reach our goal of hitting $5 billion in Revenue and beyond. You will be part of the Global Deal Assurance team, helping to provide revenue recognition guidance to our various partners. You will get to work cross-functionally and partner with our Finance, Sales/Field Ops, Legal, Best Practices, Deal Management Desk, and Order Management/Billings teams. Ideally you are an excellent teammate who is hands on, highly detail oriented and process driven, but also a critical and creative thinker that can jump into the details while being able to grasp the big picture.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Sales, Sales Operations, and Legal during the contract negotiation process, with ownership of your assigned region

  • Ability to analyze the impact of contractual red flags, communicating the revenue impact, and providing alternative structures if available

  • Manage the review of contracts such as Order Documents and licensing agreements for compliance with Splunk’s revenue recognition guidelines, ASC 606, & US GAAP as it relates to your region

  • Prepare and document the appropriate revenue treatment in contract memorandums and deal write-up reviews

  • You will collaborate with our Global Deal Assurance team members to achieve consistency across all regions in policy application, and judgmental revenue decisions

  • Manage and own the pre-review of early stage deals in the pipeline, ensuring accurate revenue forecasting for your assigned region

  • Develop and provide technical revenue recognition training to cross-functional teams

  • Owning region specific monthly close and reporting processes including preparation of journal entries, account analysis and reconciliation of revenue accounts, working in sync with the Revenue Accounting Operations team

  • Perform ad-hoc/special projects and analysis as required

Requirements:

  • BS/BS in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience

  • 4 + years of meaningful revenue experience

  • Knowledge of ASC 606 principles, and a deep understanding of US GAAP

  • You are a great teammate, with the ability to work independently and willingness to tackle challenges in a rapidly-growing and dynamic environment

  • You have strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills

  • High degree of dedication to improvement and strong sense of ownership

  • Excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills, including ability to interact effectively with management, peers, and cross-functional teams

  • CPA and Big Four experience is a plus

  • Experience with financial systems a plus; SFDC, SAP, RevPro

Note:

Base Pay Range

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area

Base Pay Range: $108,000.00 - 148,500.00 per year

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts

Base Pay Range: $97,200.00 - 133,650.00 per year

All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.

Base Pay Range: $86,400.00 - 118,800.00 per year

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
