Job Description:

Early 1st Shift!

Monday - Friday, 4 AM start time

Must be able to work one Sunday a month

Position Summary:

This role is responsible to provide leadership for warehouse activities during the assigned shift for the efficient and profitable operation of the distribution center. Ensures the distribution center is prepared to meet schedules and to manage opportunities that arise regarding production planning, logistics, inventory, incoming and outgoing shipments, and the handling and disposition of materials.

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Manage warehouse activities during assigned shift for the efficient and profitable operation of the distribution center and to ensure compliance with required safety, regulatory, environmental and company programs, including Federal, State and Local regulations.

  • Plan, coordinate and provide oversight to receiving, storing, selecting and loading and the utilization of space, equipment and staffing to meet such activities in acost-effectivemanner.

  • Analyze operational issues for root cause and to determine and recommend operational efficiency.

  • Forecast workload requirements, plan for recruitment needs, and assist supervisors with scheduling as needed, to support the business needs and goals of the organization.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations for associates, contractors, etc.

  • Responsible for the oversight of distribution procedures (e.g., training, safety, maintenance, security) while ensuring cost effectiveness/cost reduction, quality, process improvements, associate satisfaction, etc. within the distribution center.

  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, operations leaders and transportation to achieve a high level of customer service and resolve issues and drive process improvement regarding distribution center activities including production activities, complaints, concerns or violations of loading and unloading of product.

  • Ensure the health, safety, cleanliness and security of the work environment.

  • This mayinclude butis not limited to: Work with maintenance team to maintain the physical condition of the warehouse facility and ensure equipment (i.e., MHE) is in proper working condition.

  • Ensure procedures for the efficient operation and utilization of all warehouse equipment is followed; address any issues or concerns promptly.

  • Promote and reinforce safety and security awareness; report and/or address any issues or work-related injuries.

  • Responsible for the administration of the labor agreement.

  • Responsible for additional warehouse activities to include managing the salvage of damaged or used material, assisting distribution center leadership with budgeting warehouse and reclamation operations, etc.

  • Support/facilitate communication at the facility on topics including damage, safety, and energy through pre-shift meetings, written communication and one-on-one interaction with associates.

  • Responsible for department management including staffing, training, performance management and career development ofassociates, and developing and monitoring department goals.

  • Work with Distribution Management to prepare and monitor operating, labor and capital expenditure budgets as required.

  • Maintain current knowledge of legal regulations, industry trends and best practices within Distribution Center operations; make recommendations to improve current processes and to ensure company legal compliance.

  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Associate degree (Required) in Business orLogistics, Transportation, Supply Chain Management or related area or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.Bachelor'sdegree preferred.

  • Three years' experience in a warehouse environment.

  • One year in a supervisory management role.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Working knowledge of basic accounting principles.

  • Effective meeting facilitation skills and negotiation skills.

  • Effective time management and ability to manage multiple projects to meet deadlines.

  • Strong leadership, organization, prioritization, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to work flexible hours.

  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel and Word).

  • Knowledge of distribution software and Inventory/Warehouse Management Systems.

Must frequently sit, walk and stand, use hands to handle, grasp, and twist objects, tools, or controls, and use both feet for repetitive movements as in operating foot controls. Must frequently walk, talk, crouch, kneel, bend, stoop, twist, and reach with the hands and arms. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds with assistance as needed. While performing the duties of this position, employees are subject to a warehouse environment and may frequently be exposed to changes in temperature and humidity based on assignment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. Employees must be able to work weekends, holidays, days and night hours, and overtime as necessary and as assigned, and must be able to work in the condition specified for 8-10 hours shift as assigned. Travel requirements vary by assignment.
