Position Supervises:
Intensive Care Unit (MICU/SICU and 5 Surg) Personnel
Job Summary:
Accountable on a 24 hour basis for the operation of Intensive Care Units (MICU/SICU and 5 Surg). This includes, but is not limited to: directing the delivery of quality patient care, interpretation and implementation of policies and procedures; appropriate utilization of human, fiscal and material resources; staff development; performance evaluation; performance improvement initiatives; interdepartmental communications; and professional growth. Actively promotes a work culture by performing team member duties to encourage consistent use of PI principles and processes, including continually seeking work process improvements. Recognizes the necessity of taking ownership of one’s own motivation, morale, performance and professional development. Strives for behavior consistent with being committed to Independence Health System missions, vision and values.
Education
⚬ Minimum:
Graduate of a Registered Nurse Program
⚬ Preferred: Bachelor Degree in Nursing
Experience
Minimum:
Five years nursing experience.
Preferred:
Five years critical care leadership
Registration/Certification/Licensure:
Current PA RN license, Healthcare Provider CPR, and Act 33/73 clearances
Preferred: PALS and ACLS within one year.
