Burnsville, MN is the headquarters for the Communications Systems Division of Bosch Security Systems . Our main activities include the Product Management, Development, Quality, Financial and Materials Management of the Business Unit Critical Communications Systems, Pro Sound and Public Address & Conferencing.

The Marketing Communications department is a strong and dynamic in-house creative services team responsible for global marketing communications and brand management for the Bosch Communications, Sound and Audio portfolio covering the brands Bosch, Dynacord, Electro-Voice, RTS and Telex. The diverse product portfolio includes loudspeakers, audio electronics, intercom, public address systems and more – and targets an equally broad audience from musicians to governments to stadiums. Team members are based in Europe (Germany, Netherlands, Italy, Morocco, Dubai), the US (Burnsville, Fairport), Singapore and China.

Job Description

The Senior Segment Marketing Communications Manager, Critical Communications is part of the global Marketing Communications team in the Business Unit Communications, Security Systems division (part of The Bosch Group – a leading supplier of technology and services employing over 400,000 associates worldwide). This position will be innovative, and have the opportunity to lead, identify, and create solutions to business challenges, as well as influence or guide in matters related to marketing communications.

The main responsibilities of this position include:

  • Owns the marketing communications strategy for the overall segment – mobilizes the power of branding, digital marketing and events with dedicated segment budget and resources

  • Develops and executes the marketing communications plan for the segment in the region

  • Has a strong understanding of the target audience(s), what they care about and the communications channels to best reach them

  • Is the marketing communications expert in the purpose team, leading with fresh and effective strategies and tactics to bring our brand(s), products and solutions to the market

  • Responsible for global brand and portfolio coverage in addition to regional North America coverage

  • Challenges the status quo and goes into new terrain to grow the brand(s) and extend our reach and impact – reference marketing, partner co-marketing, digital infrastructure, lead generation strategies, reporting and analytics

  • Active collaboration with senior leadership, global product management and regional stakeholders to understand the needs of the segment to steer prioritization and focus of the team and ensure context and relevance to the business

  • Builds, empowers and nurtures a high-performing team of in-house experts

  • Speaks with data and insights through regular reporting on the effectiveness of campaigns and tactics for brand awareness and lead generation

  • Ensures an effective marketing communications support infrastructure - team, resources, workflows and budget

  • Ensures a strong network of external resources required to achieve segment goals – digital resources for web, portals, social channels; influencer activities; lead generation; product rendering agencies; videographers; technical design teams and quick-turnaround designers

Additional key competencies and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for establishing, articulating and building the brand positioning for the segment. Ensuring relevancy of the global brand and segment positioning for the region and in turn, protect, nurture and execute this brand positioning in the market. Collect learnings and market feedback to impact brand development and ensure continued and growing impact.

  • Approve all segment budget allocation and spend

  • Approve global communications briefs for new product launches

  • Deploys and/or executes on global marketing communications plan and launch package for new product launches

  • Responsible for brand and content direction and deployment for global brand campaigns

  • Approve all segment communications to ensure effective targeting, accurate product positioning and on-brand messaging

  • Responsible for developing or delegating global creative content i.e., global product launch packages

  • Approve appropriateness and effective positioning of creative content for the segment, portfolio, brand

  • Responsible for ensuring a strong and effective digital channel strategy for the segment. Ensure segment has the channels and tools required.

  • Responsible for reporting on effectiveness of brand channels and tactics to influence future investments and related activities

  • Responsible for determining strategy for contact management within the segment including obtaining, nurturing and growing contact lists for effective and targeted direct-to-end-user communications

  • Approve vendors / agencies and return-on-investment of resources

  • Approve event objectives, budget, booth designs and related activities

  • Responsible for bringing marketing communications expertise to key relationships with global and/or strategic partners

  • Approve global media and PR content / activities to bring awareness to the brand, people, portfolio and products

  • Responsible for the protection, trademarking and registration of segment-related products

Qualifications

  • Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field

  • 10+ years of marketing communications experience

  • 5+ years of digital marketing in a B2B work environment is required

  • Ability to build and leverage key stakeholder business relationships to support goals and objectives.

  • Strong ability to make quick, effective decisions aligned to the overall marketing strategy.

  • Excellent communication skills; both verbally and in writing.

  • Must be a strong listener with the ability to understand different perspectives/views, determine a forward path, and execute.

  • Experience in the intercom industry is an advantage

  • Language(s): English (mandatory), German and Dutch (an advantage)
