Fairview Health Services Pharmacist - Oncology in Burnsville, Minnesota

Overview

Fairview Pharmacy Services is hiring a full-time Clinical Pharmacist in the Burnsville Oncology Pharmacy to provide infusion and clinical services to oncology and other specialty infusion patients. This is a great opportunity for a Pharmacist who has completed a PGY1 residency or a Pharmacist who has at least one year of experience in a complex pharmacy.

In this role, you will work as part of a high-performing team of pharmacists and technicians, who are part of an interdisciplinary team with nurses, physicians, and other health care providers in a rewarding, fast-paced academic/clinic setting. This is a unique position allowing a pharmacist to utilize/develop clinical skill while partnering with key stakeholders to drive medication safety, customer service, process improvement, clinical and formulary programs and initiatives and regulatory compliance. The Pharmacist also acts as a primary resource in the development and education of students, residents, staff and interdisciplinary members of the care team.

The hours are Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:30pm. This position will also rotate to cover infusion pharmacy every 10 th weekend at our Edina location.

Responsibilities Job Description

  • Provide clinical, formulary and pharmacotherapy expertise and act as a resource to students, staff and interdisciplinary members of the care team.

  • Act as resource for pharmaceutical care to patients. This includes partnering with interdisciplinary care team members to ensure appropriateness of medication order and therapy, drug selection, formulary correctness and compliance any other formulary or departmental initiatives.

  • Provide clinical pharmacy services to all patients in assigned area including completing review for all patients daily, monitoring, adjusting patient therapies and documenting changes according to department policies.

  • Accountable for the distribution and/or preparation of medications, sterile products, compound IV mixtures and other extemporaneous orders as appropriate.

  • Effectively consult and educate patients, staff, and students on drug

  • Execute the function of staff pharmacist

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required:

One year pharmacist experience in complex pharmacy operation or completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency program

Licensed or eligible for licensure as a pharmacist in Minnesota
