What You Will Do:

As a Mechanical Design Engineer , you’ll play a key role in developing and supporting mechanical solutions for sophisticated aerospace projects. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Design & Documentation : Develop and modify mechanical designs, create documentation, and support production with analysis and troubleshooting.

  • Collaboration : Work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, software engineers, and system engineers, to design and test innovative solutions.

  • Mechanical Interfaces & Components : Focus on creating and refining mechanical interfaces and components used in electro-mechanical test equipment.

  • Prototyping & Testing : Lead prototype build, testing, and verification processes, while contributing to test fixture, cable, and interconnect designs.

  • Problem Solving : Apply troubleshooting and reverse engineering skills to address production challenges and improve testing efficiency.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Experience : Minimum 3 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience. If no degree, 7 years of experience required.

  • Technical Expertise : Proficiency with Solidworks, NX Designer, AutoCAD, or similar design tools. Experience with 3D printing and mechanical analysis.

  • Collaboration Skills : Demonstrated experience working with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Mechanical Design : Ability to translate system requirements into practical mechanical designs, with a focus on pressurized systems and electro-mechanical sensing.

  • Degree : A degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) or equivalent experience.

  • This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on, proactive personality with a focus on continuous design improvement.

  • Familiarity with Aerospace or Avionics products.

  • Experience in mechanical design for test systems and fabrication processes (CNC, welding, sheet metal, additive).

  • Expertise in GD&T and robust documentation practices for machined and fabricated components.

Pay Details: $25.50 per hour
