Job Description

We are seeking a skilled millwright for a contract role. The successful candidate will be responsible for disassembling data racks, shrink wrapping them, and moving them down two flights of stairs.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble data racks and shrink wrap them.

• Move disassembled racks down two flights of stairs.

• Perform installation, shutdowns, and preventative maintenance tasks.

• Engage in new construction projects.

• Install and repair conveyor systems, shuttle lifts, and food manufacturing equipment.

• Read and interpret blueprints.

• Conduct welding and troubleshooting tasks.

Essential Skills

• Journeyman Millwright OR 3rd/4th year Apprentice Millwright

• Experience with new installations

• Ability to travel to various sites across the lower mainland (own vehicle required)

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints

• Experience in installing and repairing conveyor systems

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with rigging

• Welding experience

• Fall protection certification (expired certifications acceptable)

• Lift experience/ticket (scissor lift, boom lift, etc. - expired certifications acceptable)

• Industrial experience

• Class 1 License (highly preferred)

Work Environment

The first project is located at a food manufacturing facility in Burnaby and will last approximately 3 months. Typical hours are Monday to Friday starting at 7 am, with daily and weekly overtime available. Projects can be located anywhere in the lower mainland and vary in length from 3 weeks to 6 months. The work environment includes dusty, industrial facilities with responsibilities ranging from new installations to preventative maintenance.
