Posting Summary

The University of Vermont Center on Rural Addiction ( UVM CORA ) is a HRSA -funded Center in the UVM Larner College of Medicine aimed at identifying, translating, disseminating, and implementing science-based practices to address the rural OUD epidemic, as well as future drug epidemics as they emerge. UVM CORA’s Surveillance & Evaluation (S&E) Core supports the measurement and evaluation efforts of the Center.

Primary responsibilities include developing, performing, coordinating and overseeing evaluation and research activities for the S&E Core of UVM CORA . Specifically, this individual will systematically prioritize workflows and methods implemented by S&E Core team staff, and evaluate progress towards goals and results of the S&E Core. Coordinate with CORA Center Director, multiple Core Leads, and state-specific Site Principal Investigators to oversee the day-to-day operations of the S&E Core. Functionally supervise and train S&E Core staff. Determine data needs, design data collection instruments and infrastructure, coordinate data collection efforts, and create processes to ensure data integrity and quality assurance across projects. Conduct qualitative and quantitative data analyses and evidence synthesis. Create and maintain evaluation documentation, scientific manuals, files, and records. Translate and disseminate evaluation and research results for the S&E Core internally for Core Leads and externally for our partners and funders. In collaboration with CORA leadership, plan, design, and develop evaluation and research projects, proposals, and presentations. Conduct targeted literature searches, prepare reports, and co-author scientific manuscripts.

Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

Master’s degree in public health, social sciences or a related field and three to five years’ project management and evaluation experience required. Experience with qualitative analysis software (e.g. NVIVO ) or quantitative statistical analysis software (e.g. STATA ) required. Effective technical/scientific writing, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills required. Proficient computer skills using word processing, spreadsheet and database software.

Desirable Qualifications

Experience with rural studies, populations, and/or substance use treatment/research. Experience working with diverse partners (e.g., university, state, federal) and multi-state teams.

Anticipated Pay Range $65,000 - $80,000

Other Information

Special Conditions Contingent on continued funding, Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non-exempt position, may result in overtime), Bargaining unit position, External candidates must complete a 4-month probationary period, This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule with an option to split time between campus and elsewhere, in accordance with the university telecommuting policy, Background Check required for this position
