The Department of Surgery at the Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at The University of Vermont and the University of Vermont Medical Center is excited to announce a search for a Chief of Acute Care Surgery. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the care of trauma, emergency general surgical, and critically ill surgical patients. They will help train the next generation of general surgery residents and pursue their research interests. Experience in clinical leadership is preferred. Only candidates at the Associate Professor or Professor level in the clinical scholar pathway or tenure pathway will be considered for this prestigious position. All applicants must be board certified in General Surgery with additional certification in Surgical Critical Care. Successful candidates must be eligible for licensure in the State of Vermont, eligible to work in the United States, and have a career interest in the administrative, teaching, clinical, and research activities of an academic division of Trauma/Acute Care Surgery. This is a full-time (with protected time for Division Chief responsibilities), 12-month, salaried positions with attending staff privileges at the University of Vermont Health Network.

Located in Burlington, the University of Vermont Medical Center serves as Vermont’s only tertiary care academic medical center and provides care to patients from Vermont and Northern NY.
