We're hiring for a Senior Buyer/Planner to supports pharmaceutical production activities for our facility in the Boston area!

The Senior Buyer/Planner is responsible for purchasing, materials requirements planning, and supplier relationship management. This individual works closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials Management, and Finance. This is a full-time, salaried position. This role has a hybrid schedule with one day remote, and four days in office. Hours are Monday – Friday 1st shift.

The Boston-area facility is Catalent’s global Center of Excellence for spray dry dispersion and Dry Powder Inhaler (DPI) capsule manufacture and packaging. The site features inhaled powder spray drying, as well as multiple commercial-scale lines for capsule filling and blister packaging. On-site spray dryers include best-in-class GEA Niro SD1, SD4 and SD7, the latter being the largest CGMP unit of its kind for DPI in North America.

The Role

• Manages all material requirements for the site, reviews and analyzes requirements daily for materials management.

• Schedules, prioritizes, and expedites material as required to support production schedules.

• Supports any site material requirements for both non-GMP and GMP material requests.

• Maintains inventory of each controlled material in the warehouse. Places orders for replenishment when necessary.

• Coordinates with the finance team for monthly and quarterly audits and related activities.

• Documents all work in controlled documents in accordance with SOP’s.

• Provides support to the Manufacturing, Engineering, and Materials team as needed.

• Forecast inventory movement and manage reorder points and materials that require reevaluation.

• Execute against a previously defined inventory replenishment strategy.

• Release purchase orders to suppliers scheduled directly as MRP indicates.

• All other duties as assigned.

The Candidate

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

• Minimum of 5+ years of purchasing, warehousing, and inventory control experience in a cGMP manufacturing environment required.

• Previous experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industries preferred.

• Experience with inventory management systems, such as Great Plains, preferred.
