Job Summary
Perform purchasing activities in support of plant operations, leading strategic sourcing and vendor management to build strong supplier relationships. Utilize data analytics to pinpoint opportunities for process improvements, inventory optimization, and cost reduction. The ideal candidate is driven, demonstrating integrity, accountability, and a strong work ethic, while consistently maintaining high standards in all actions and decisions. They excel in fast-paced environments, using sound judgment to make informed decisions and achieve results. With excellent communication skills, they foster effective collaboration across teams, staying proactive, self-motivated, and dedicated to delivering excellence.
Essential Duties
Safety: Actively engage in safety programs as directed. Drive continuous improvement and promote open and prioritized communication that will advance a safety driven mindset for all employees and elevate the plantwide culture of safety.
Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and build strong relationships with suppliers and service providers to drive value, while negotiating favorable terms, including pricing, delivery schedules, and service level agreements. Draft, review, and manage contracts and master service agreements as necessary, ensuring compliance with company policies and alignment with business needs. Conduct comprehensive supplier assessments.
Strategic Sourcing Leadership: Lead and / or support RFQ (Request for Quote) initiatives to drive cost savings, mitigate risks, and uphold quality standards through the Arkestro platform. Collaborate with Plant Stakeholders to design and execute strategic sourcing strategies that enhance reliability and minimize operational downtime. Issue purchase orders to support seamless procurement processes.
Data Analytics & Process Improvement: Leverage data analytics to identify inefficiencies and waste within procurement processes, driving continuous improvement, process optimization, and cost reduction. Analyze trends and performance data to uncover opportunities for cost reduction and operational enhancements, leading change initiatives to eliminate suboptimal practices and enhance overall procurement effectiveness. Present data driven case studies to management that clearly outlines an opportunity and proposes a solution.
Product Life Cycle: Interface with product life cycle review to evaluate current and future product offerings. Find and establish new suppliers, set up materials, work with Marketing team to create/update packaging requirements. Assist in cost analysis for materials and packaging. Provide input on budget planning to support stakeholders in making informed financial decisions.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Under the direction of the Purchasing Manager: Partner closely with maintenance, operations, transportation, manufacturing, Corporate Purchasing, and finance teams to align procurement strategies with organizational goals. Collaborate with accounting, receiving, and quality control departments to promptly address and resolve any issues related to material delivery discrepancies, overdue shipments, invoicing, or quality concerns.
Inventory Management: Collaborate with the Materials, Shipping and Production departments to manage optimal stock levels for both finished goods and raw materials, ensuring demand is met while minimizing excess inventory. Develop and execute strategies to maintain accurate inventory records, reduce carrying costs, prevent stockouts, and improve inventory turnover. Participate in the disposition, repurposing, and/or removal of slow moving / obsolete material (SMOOSI).
Quality Assurance: Work closely with the Quality Control team to ensure materials consistently meet or exceed quality standards. Be a direct contributor of the CAPA system; when necessary, implement corrective action plans to resolve quality issues, maintain product integrity, and drive an environment where continuous improvement is an expectation.

Under This Roof We Require
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (e.g., Logistics, Procurement, or Business Management).
Minimum of 4+ year’s experience in procurement Required
Experience in use of ERP system (PeopleSoft, SAP, or equivalent) and AMMS system (Maximo). Required
Experience in make/buy decisions, proficiency with computers, excellent oral and written communication skills. In addition, demonstrated experience working in a customer-focused and multi-functional team environment.

Demonstrated advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively at all organizational levels.
Applies advanced mathematical skills, including calculating percentages, proportions, and rates
Demonstrates skill in interpreting MRP requirements to maintain optimal inventory levels and ensure efficient supply chain operations. SAP experience is preferred.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage large volumes of tasks (multitasking)
Interprets and analyzes drawings, specifications, terms and conditions, warranties, and contracts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
