Job Summary:

The Security Officer is responsible for the enforcement of rules and regulations, loss prevention and related duties. The Security Officer is also responsible for reporting the status of the plant’s security to the Facilities Manager.

Essential Functions:

  • Authorizes movement of vehicles on company property

  • Authorizes badges for employees, visitors and contractors

  • Inspects and reports any security incidences

  • Escort material and/or personnel for security reasons

  • Provides support to Human Resources

  • Tracks and distributes keys

  • Establishes and maintains contact with various Public and Civic organizations to stay up to date with civic responsibilities

  • Picks up and Drops off mail to the US Postal Service

  • Responsible for company vehicles

  • Responsible for gas credit cards

  • Any other task assigned by supervisor or management

Non-Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for maintaining office supplies and security equipment for the Security Department

  • Has interest to improve security measures

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience: At least 5 years’ experience working as a security officer

  • Knowledge: Has knowledge of laws and necessary government regulations

  • Skills/Abilities: Oral and written expression and comprehension; Know when to seek help in case of emergency; Ability to learn about relevant equipment, policies and procedures; Observant and able to take detailed notes for incidence reporting

  • Education/Certification: High School Diploma or equivalent; Active security certification; Adult CPR and First Aid Basic certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance

Working Conditions:

  • Standard office and manufacturing environment

  • Work requires substantial visual concentration on detail

  • Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment

  • Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE

  • May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes

  • Flexible and willing to work overtime if necessary

  • Standing: 80% *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task

  • Sitting: 20% *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task

  • Lifting (in pounds): up to 35 pounds

  • Pushing (in pounds): up to 35 pounds

  • Mental/Visual: use of computer

  • Workspace (line, cube, etc): Desk

Top Benefits:

Salary range: $20.16 to $25.56. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications. Some roles may be eligible for participation in performance-based bonus programs.
