Insight Global is hiring for a Systems Administrator III/Principal Systems Administrator to join one of our top aerospace and defense clients. This opportunity is a 12-month contract and takes place fully onsite in Buffalo, NY.

The mission specific purpose of this position is to perform preventative and corrective maintenance on Mission Package Computing Environment (MPCE) hardware and software and support Mission Module (MM) embarkations by performing initial light off procedures on MM equipment.

Day to day in this role, the ideal candidate will be responsible for applying security measures and hardening to computing systems, maintaining smooth operation of multi-user computer systems (inclusive of coordination with network administrators), implementing recovery procedures for backup and restoration, maintaining the plan of action milestones for cybersecurity vulnerabilities by creating and maintaining installation, maintenance and upgrade procedures. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to: setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, fine-tuning system performance and install system wide software, designing, developing, automating and maintaining productivity tools using programming/scripting to improve software configuration management release processes.

The ideal candidate has experience with working on Department of Defense (DOD) software configuration management efforts and working on business or engineering full life-cycle projects from project inception through launch.

Skills and Requirements

Requirements for System Administrator 3:

Bachelors degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant IT experience. An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Red Hat or CentOS Linux System Administration.

Ability to collaborate in a team environment.

Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance.

Requirements for Principal Systems Administrator:

Bachelors degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant IT experience. An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Red Hat or CentOS Linux System Administration.

Ability to collaborate in a team environment.

Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance. SELinux configuration experience

PAM Module experience

Vulnerability scanning experience using SCC/openSCAP/ACAS/Nessus

RMF STIG / JSIG

Virtual Machine management VMware

Experience with Windows Operating Systems/System Administration

Experience in computer/network hardening

Experience with CISCO network switches

Experience with Red Hat Linux Operating Systems

Experience generating and installing software applications

Experience with tools such as GitHub, JIRA, Jenkins, SonarQube, Confluence, and Docker null
