Position Summary:

The Senior Research Support Specialist ( RSS ) will join a multidisciplinary team working on two federally-funded projects studying vaping and smoking. Responsibilities may include:

  • Screening potential participants for eligibility;

  • Preparing for and running multi-visit participant lab studies, including: collecting bio specimens, collecting survey data, running cognitive and other computer assessments;

  • Entering and maintaining records in REDCap;

  • Coding behavioral observations;

  • Attending lab meetings;

  • General clerical office duties related to funded studies.

A high level of discretion, judgment, collaboration, and initiative are required to accomplish position goals. There is a potential for advancement with this position.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (OR obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in May 2024) in psychology or another health-related profession;

  • Research experience with human participants;

  • Combination of conscientious adherence to study protocols and excellent interpersonal skills;

  • Basic proficiency with keyboarding, Microsoft Word, and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in psychology or health-related profession;

  • Previous experience in smoking/vaping research or related research involving participant screen and assessments;

  • Experience with computer-assisted data capture (REDCap or other).
