Position Summary:

The Postdoctoral Associate will study and perform research in Biomedical Informatics (https://medicine.buffalo.edu/departments/biomedical-informatics.html) , working on Bioinformatics and Data Science related research. The focus of the research will be on one or more of the following topics:

• Developing a novel AI tool for binding affinity prediction

• Building a knowledge graph with biological and chemical entities of interest to predict polypharmacy associated adverse drug reactions

• Enhancing drug design software

Minimum Qualifications:

• PhD in Biomedical Informatics or a related field, such as, Computer Science, Statistics, Computational Biology, or Computational Chemistry

• Strong interest in Clinical Informatics and/or Bioinformatics

• Experience working with translational science or computational biology

• Experience programming in Python

• Understanding of machine/deep learning topics

• Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced Python programming skills

• Proven experience developing and applying AI models

• Experience with software development
