Summary: Develops and implements strategic planning processes for the delivery of laboratory services in the clinical and research setting; plans for the adoption of new technologies; participates with management, medical staff and other staff in the organization's decision-making structures and processes; directs overall operations of laboratory services and all employees engaged in providing services; oversees technical operations through supervisors and leads.

Salary range for this position is $120,984 - $147,726 annually which includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications:Required Education and Experience

1. Doctorate degree in biological sciences or a related field and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time experience in a clinical or research laboratory setting in a medical center, academic institution and/or clinical environment including eighteen (18) months experience in a supervisory, administrative, consultative, managerial or executive capacity; or
2. Master's degree in biological sciences or a related field and the equivalent of four (4) years of full-time experience in a clinical or research laboratory setting in a medical center, academic institution and/or clinical environment including eighteen (18) months experience in a supervisory, administrative, consultative, managerial or executive capacity; or
3. Bachelor's degree in biological sciences, medical technology or a related field and the equivalent of six (6) years of full-time experience in a clinical or research laboratory setting in a medical center, academic institution and/or clinical environment including eighteen (18) months experience in a supervisory, administrative, consultative, managerial or executive capacity.

NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university

Preferred Qualifications:

The preferred candidate will have prior experience as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist performing testing for clinical care: 6+ years as either a generalist, or with experience in two or more core clinical laboratory disciplines (Chemistry, Hematology, Immunology, Microbiology, Transfusion Medicine, Hematopoietic Stem Cell lab). NYS DOH regulated laboratory experience preferred. They will also have a minimum of 2 years experience at an oncological facility performing clinical laboratory testing, clinical laboratory supervision, or laboratory administration, with a daily outpatient collection rate of 250 - 350 samples per day, with same day turn-around-time expectations for the majority of in-house core testing. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of supervisory or administrative experience that includes management of unionized workers in a healthcare setting, Knowledge/experience with NYS DOH, The Joint Commission, and other regulatory requirements, inspections, and/or audits as they relate to Clinical Laboratory operations.
