Job Summary: Operating Room Nurses provide care and support to patients before, during and after surgery. OR Nurses also assist the surgeon and the surgical team in their tasks.

Duties: Serves as the communication liaison to family and members of the operating team. Confirm patient identity utilizing 2 established criteria. Review health history including allergies and reactions. Receive verbal confirmation of procedure and site from patient. Confirm signed informed consent present on patient record. Ensures that operating on correct patient and the correct procedure is being performed. Observe site marking performed by physician performing the procedure. Assists/ monitors physical symptoms. Assists/ monitors behavioral changes. Apply monitoring devices for intraoperative use.
