Queen City Early Childhood Center Night Shift Daycare Manager in Buffalo, New York
Buffalo. Night Shift Daycare Manager. Queen City Early Childhood Center. Part Time.
Queen City ECC is seeking a dedicated Night Shift Manager to oversee the evening and overnight operations of our childcare center. The Night Shift Manager ensures a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for children in compliance with New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) childcare regulations. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to supervise staff while maintaining a high-quality childcare experience.
Responsibilities: 1. Compliance & Safety: -Ensure all policies and procedures adhere to OCFS NYS Childcare Regulations, including but not limited to: -Supervision and staff-to-child ratios ( 418-1.8) -Health and safety guidelines ( 418-1.11) -Fire safety and emergency preparedness ( 418-1.5) -Proper documentation and record-keeping ( 418-1.15) -Conduct nightly safety checks to maintain compliance with facility and sanitation standards. -Ensure childrens personal hygiene, sleep routines, and mealtime regulations are followed according to OCFS standards.
Staff Supervision & Leadership: -Oversee night shift caregivers and support staff, ensuring proper staffing ratios per OCFS guidelines. -Provide leadership, coaching, and assistance to ensure high-quality childcare services. -Conduct routine staff evaluations and performance monitoring. -Ensure staff complete required trainings and certifications, including CPR & First Aid ( 418-1.14).
Child Supervision & Well-being: -Maintain a structured yet calm nighttime environment for children. -Supervise bedtime routines, ensuring children follow safe sleep guidelines ( 418-1.7). -Monitor childrens well-being throughout the night and respond to any medical or behavioral incidents. -Handle any late pick-ups and communicate effectively with parents.
Parent & Guardian Communication: -Maintain open communication with parents regarding child progress and any concerns. -Document any incidents or significant occurrences in compliance with OCFS incident reporting ( 418-1.11). -Provide handover reports to morning shift staff for smooth transitions.
Facility Management: -Ensure proper cleaning and sanitization of the childcare facility before morning shift arrival. -Monitor security systems and conduct facility lock-up procedures. -Inventory and request necessary supplies for overnight care needs.
Qualifications & Requirements: -Must meet OCFS NYS qualifications for a Group Teacher or Site Supervisor, including: -Associates or Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field (Preferred). -At least two years of experience in a licensed childcare setting. -Must meet OCFS training and background check requirements ( 418-1.13). -CPR & First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).
Job Type: Part-time Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
