Catholic Health Lead Registered Vascular Ultrasound Technologist in Buffalo, New York

Work Schedule: Varied with Weekend and Holiday Rotation

Hours: Varied daytime shift start times, weekend days: holiday rotation: call rotation.

Summary:

Under the direction of a Radiologist and/or a Site Manger / Director, performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative in the application of non-ionizing high frequency ultrasound waves. After post hire training, an Ultrasound technologist will demonstrate the ability to, and perform, a variety of technical procedures at a proficient level. Ultrasound technologists will participate in after hours and weekend call rotations as required by site specific expectations. The Lead Vascular Ultrasound Technologist will assist the Manager of Imaging Services in creating a high quality, high performing ultrasound department

Responsibilities:

EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS

  • Graduate of an Approved School of Radiologic Technology or Diagnostic Ultrasonography

  • Registered as an Ultrasonographer with either the ARRT or ARDMS

  • Registered as a Vascular Technologist with one of the following credentialing organizations:

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) , Vascular Sonography RT(VS)

  • American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonagraphy (ARDMS). Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)

  • Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS)

  • BLS Preferred

EXPERIENCE

  • Five (5) years' experience as a Staff Ultrasound or RVT Technologist

  • Post-Hire Experience- Perform the duties in an acceptable manner within six months.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

  • Competent on all pieces of Ultrasound equipment

  • Good judgment

  • Analytical ability

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Ability to work unsupervised

  • Ability to interpret data and draw conclusions

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Good general health necessary in order to stand and walk most of the day. Must have the ability to pull, push, and lift patients and equipment.

  • Participate in site rotations where applicable, see site specific department requirements
