Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst who will perform as an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) and conduct assessments of systems and networks and identify where those systems and networks deviate from acceptable configurations or policy; this is achieved through passive evaluations such as compliance audits and active evaluations such as vulnerability assessments. The selected candidate will also establish strict program control processes to ensure mitigation of risks and will provide support in obtaining accreditation of systems, the implementation of the required government policy (i.e., DAAPM), documenting the results of Assessment and Authorization activities, preparation of the System Security Plans, and updating the Plan of Actions and Milestones POA&M.
This position is located in Buffalo, NY; please note that due to the classified nature of this position, the selected candidate will be required to work on-site, full-time, at our Buffalo, NY campus - this is not a remote work opportunity.
The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the appropriate operational security posture is maintained for systems under their authority. The ISSO assists the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) in meeting their duties and responsibilities. Responsibilities of the ISSO include, but are not limited to the following:
Ensuring systems are operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with security policies and procedures.
Verifying the implementation of delegated aspects of the system security program.
Ensuring all proper account management documentation is completed.
Verifying all system security documentation is current and accessible to authorized individuals.
Conducting periodic assessments of authorized systems and providing the ISSM with corrective actions for all identified findings and vulnerabilities.
Ensuring audit records are collected and analyzed in accordance with the security plan.
Formally notifying the ISSM of any changes to a system that could affect authorization.
Ensuring user activity monitoring data is analyzed, stored, and protected in accordance with policies and procedures.
Executing the continuous monitoring strategy.
Basic Qualifications:
Master’s degree with 0 years of experience, or a Bachelor's degree with 2 years of experience, or an Associates degree with 4 years of experience; a High School Diploma/GED with 6 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a completed degree.
Must have a DoD 8570 IAM level I (or higher) security certification (i.e. Security +), or must have the ability to obtain the certification within 6 months of start date; maintaining the required certification will be a condition of continued employment.
Candidates must have a current DoD Secret security clearance (at a minimum) in order to be considered; maintaining the required security clearance will be a condition of continued employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, a CASP CE or CGRC certification, and 4 years of experience with Assessment and Authorization of classified systems and Risk Management Framework.
Knowledge of SCAP, POA&Ms, NIST, DAAPM system audits, vulnerability scanning, and RMF package development preferred.

Salary Range: $81,300 - $121,900
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
