Robert Half Controller in Buffalo, New York

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Controller in Buffalo, New York. As a Controller, you will play a key role in managing the agency's finances, maintaining fiscal integrity, and leading a small team within the accounting department. The role involves handling banking transactions, forecasting cash flows, and maintaining the General Ledger.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all agency financial operations under the guidance of the Chief Financial Officer.

• Supervise a small accounting team, ensuring all deadlines are met.

• Establish and maintain relationships with banking institutions, conducting all banking transactions on behalf of the agency.

• Forecast and report cash flow on a weekly basis.

• Maintain the General Ledger, perform month-end close, and conduct bank reconciliations.

• Ensure deadlines for Monthly Grant Vouchering are met and provide thorough forecast analysis.

• Monitor contract deadlines and fiscal obligations, meeting with program monitors from funding agencies.

• Complete annual filing requirements.

• Maintain strict control of all agency finances. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a controller role or similar position

• Proven expertise in Auditing and Budget Processes

• Proficiency in Month End Close procedures

• Knowledge and understanding of Bank Regulation

• Experience in Monthly Bank Reconciliation

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel

• Familiarity with financial software and systems

• Understanding of financial laws and regulations

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) credentials preferred.
