Description

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of a Bookkeeper in Buffalo, New York. The role is primarily focused on processing payroll for a substantial number of employees, preparing bank deposits, posting bank receipts, and conducting account reconciliations. This role presents a short-term contract employment opportunity and requires on-site presence for up to 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

• Manage payroll for approximately 150 employees, including creating batches and processing adjustments

• Ensure payroll is coded accurately and process any changes in benefits

• Prepare bank deposits as needed

• Post bank receipts in a timely manner

• Manage special accounts payable tasks such as check batch runs for client restitutions

• Conduct end-of-month reconciliation to the general ledger

• Assume responsibility for own parking.

Skills:

• Experience with Payroll and In-House Payroll

• Familiarity with Account Reconciliation

• Experience with Check Runs

Requirements

• Experience with payroll processing is mandatory

• Ability to perform account reconciliation is required

• Experience with check runs is essential

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Knowledge of general accounting principles

• Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask

• Experience with financial reporting and preparation of financial statements

• Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures

• Must possess a high level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
