This position requires 5 - 10 years experienced mechanical or process engineer with exposition O&G surface facilities equipment specifications and acquisitions, and familiar with surface facilities projects management. The candidate must be proactive with abilities to lead and teamworking, being proactive when identifying solutions and opportunities for cost optimization, communication skills for interfacing with surface equipment vendors, and internal stakeholders including SCM category specialists, Finance budget control, Facilities Cost Management, Facilities Planning Coordinator, FE Projects Managers, Facilities Construction Supervisors, FE Scheduling & Construction Controllers, QAQC Lead, C&D Facilities Lead, STD Design team members, and others.   The position reports to the Project Services Team Lead.

Job Scope and R&R 

The candidate must have interpersonal and good communication skills, including good English level for connecting internationally with equipment´s manufacturers that could provide technology solutions for Chevron’s business needs in Argentina. LLI Equipment & Critical Materials are essential components for facilities development that require to be available on time at the construction site.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Equipment strategic acquisition, preparing the procurement packages in coordination with the standard design specialists,

  • Creation of materials Purchase Requisitions (PR´s) in SMART, and assemble technical scope of contracting package when addressing skidding equipment.

  • Manage interface inside Facilities Team with Project Managers, QAQC, Facilities Execution, Construction Supervisors, Execution Schedulers, Projects Planning Coordinator.

  • Orders tracking and interface management with supply chain to ensure on time delivery of equipment’s and goods that are required by the Company, to accomplish projects execution.

  • Responsible for planning and tracking progress on equipment and materials fabrications, and coordination with the QAQC Lead the opportune holding points for quality assurance, and factory acceptance test for the goods that apply. 

  • Manage short term, Mid Term and Long Term LLI equipment and critical materials acquisitions, in a master plan to support BP budget preparation.

  • Coordinate strategic spare parts purchases to cover infant failures that may occur during commissioning and start up.

  • Detect opportunities for cot reduction of LLI Equipment

  • Work close to the Facilities Standard Design and PM´s to develop strategies for skidding for factory implementation

Required Qualifications: 

  • B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar with a minimum of 5 years of experience in O&G projects. 

  • Experience in the preparation of specifications packaging for procurement of processing equipment related to O&G surface facilities.  

  • Technical Knowledge: Demonstrated proficiency in QAQC processes during fabrication, and construction of processing equipment for: separation and treatment, compression, gas dehydration, metering and storage facilities for oil and gas operations.

  • Exposition on projects management, with emphasis on planning and interface management.

  • Fluent with digital tools and process discipline to make step-change improvements in quality of data reliability. Exposition on equipment and parts cataloging and database management

  • Good communication skills and language capabilities in English

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiar with Chevron Engineering Standards

  • Knowledge and exposition with SMART for Purchase Requisition.  

  • Engineering exposition on design and preparation of equipment data sheet

  • Exposition with international equipment manufacturing and technology vendors

  • Understands the impact of inbound logistics and how the Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) is affected
