Why this job matters

This role involves being the recognised Scrum master applying the Agile framework to coordinate and deliver the strategic access plan to BT Global Fabric and BT Connect portfolio in Europe and AMEA to drive future-proof Access capabilities, deliver for customer’s ever-evolving requirements and continuously improve BT Business competitiveness. Access accounts for 50%+ of connect bid costs and is thus essential for BT Business competitiveness.

This role delivers the Access Programmes and strategies in critical areas for the business but not limited Global Fabric, Ethernet, Data Centres, Fixed Wireless Access (e.g. 5G), Internet access, NNI.

It also manages supplier driven product withdrawals to ensure replacement technologies are available for customers migrations and identifies the opportunities for Business Improvements & shapes plans to implement

What you’ll be doing – your accountabilities

• Facilitate and optimize the work of cross-functional teams in multiple time zones to successful launch new access capabilities efficiently and effectively in a global environment

• Act as a servant leader to the Agile team, fostering a collaborative and self-organizing work environment

• Deliver the plan to meet the timescales and budgets to achieve the right outcomes for the business and customers

• Remove impediments and blockers that hinder the team’s progress through engagement with senior stakeholders both within BT and Access suppliers organisations

• Work with external suppliers to improve competitiveness of BT Connect products in the markets

• Work closely with the product owners and stakeholders to prioritize and groom the product backlog

• Coordinate and deliver supplier driven product withdrawal plans

• Monitor team performance and metrics, and identify areas for improvements

• Facilitate Scrum ceremonies (Daily Standup, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective), ensuring they are efficient, focused, and valuable

• Coach and mentor team members in Agile principles and practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement

• Support the delivery of Business Improvement initiatives and deliver the plan

• Collaborate with other Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches to share best practices and drive organizational agility

Skills required for the job

• Strong experience in delivering complex and/or time critical projects

• Demonstrate business acumen and awareness of operational processes and procedures

• Stakeholder management

• Problem Analysis and Solving

• Strong understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) and principles

• Good facilitation and coaching skills

• Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and drive positive change

• Good communication and interpersonal abilities

Experience you would be expected to have

• Strong knowledge of access technologies & Global Fabric/BT Connect Portolio

• Experience working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

• Good experience as a Scrum Master on Agile teams, with a track record of successful project deliveries

• Familiarity with Agile tools such as Jira

• Strong experience in planning and delivering complex and/or time critical projects and managing virtual teams to deliver the business/customers benefits

• Experience in identifying and implementing BI opportunities (e.g. CI…)
