Performs a variety of equipment operation and manual labor tasks as assigned; performs the more difficult and responsible tasks assigned to employees in the job series; works with some supervision and makes proper decisions using sound judgment; duties will vary according to job assignment.\ Performs routine and non-routine roadway or grounds repairs and maintenance; graffiti removal; makes maintenance repairs; installs and repairs irrigation lines; illegal dumping clean-up; landscaping maintenance.\ Operates a variety of heavy-duty trucks and/or construction equipment in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures.\ Performs semiskilled and skilled construction, maintenance, and manual labor work.\ Assists in the construction, maintenance and repair of roadways, structures and structural components, grounds work areas.\ Picks up and delivers materials as directed.\ Installs and maintains turf, trees, shrubs and other landscaping materials.

Inspects, cleans and performs routine maintenance work on trucks and equipment; identifies and reports mechanical problems requiring additional repair.\ Completes required daily logs and reports.\ Performs other duties as assigned or required.
