MAINTENANCE MECHANIC

$20.00 per hour

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Repair, clean,and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems,andproduction machines
• Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble
• Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections
• Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirement
• Adjusts functionalparts ofdevices and control instruments
• Starts devices to test their performance
• Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder and other metal working tools to make and repair parts
• Initiates purchase order of parts and machines.
• Uses sound troubleshooting techniques to determine root cause solutions.
• Documents repair actionsdaily.
• Performs all other tasks as necessary to maintain plant equipment and property.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• 1-7 years related experience and /or training
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondences
• Ability to add / subtract, multiply/divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
• Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret drawings and graphs
• Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several concrete variables
• Required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lifts and /or moves up to 25 pounds
• Able to work at heights using a ladder, boom lift, or scissor lift
