Job Summary and Qualifications

· You will maintain clinical competence in Advance Practice nursing on an annual basis.

· You will serve as a role model, consultant and clinical resource to medical, nursing staff, and other healthcare providers to promote health and reduce illness for specified groups of patients.

· You will make patient rounds daily to integrate essential information in order to prioritize and provide care that maximizes outcomes.

· You will evaluate currently used as well as new products and make appropriate recommendations to enhance patient care.

· You will assist with formal and informal education activities for nursing staff, based on assessment needs of the staff, new policies, procedures, and quality improvement issues to improve patient care.

· You will maintain open lines of communication with physicians, nursing, case managers and other healthcare professionals regarding patient/family needs and identifies areas of improvement throughout the hospitalization.

What qualifications you will need:

· Neonatal and newborn experience is preferred.

· Masters of Science Degree or Advance Nurse Practitioner with specialties in Neonatology or Pediatrics and licensed by Texas Board of Nurse Examiners is required.

· Bilingual is preferred.

· Current RN licensure in the state of Texas is required.

· Evidence of Texas Board of Nurse Examiners (TXBNE) recognition as an APN is required.

· Certified, as an APN by credentialing body (AANP or ANNC) is required.

· American Heart Association BLS certification is required.
