Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a DevOps Engineer in Brown Deer, Wisconsin. This role focuses on the development and support of AWS infrastructure and CI/CD environment for our clients. You will be a part of a cross-functional team, responsible for designing and implementing AWS Cloud environment. This role requires both independent work and collaboration with diverse software development and engineering teams.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in daily discussions with the team to discuss progress and upcoming work.

• Involvement in the staging process, preparing all elements of the project for testing before it reaches the production phase.

• Ensure the environment remains up to date by carrying out system upgrades as necessary.

• Ensure smooth interoperability within our tech stack by integrating and connecting a variety of technologies.

• Apply knowledge and experience in a practical manner throughout project development and management.

• Continuously seek ways to improve system reliability and speed to ensure high operational performance at all times.

• Conduct regular analysis on how cloud Information Systems are handling workloads, identifying both strengths and areas for improvement.

• Anticipate potential issues that may arise from current configurations, implementing preventive measures and solutions.

• Demonstrate a high level of understanding of the overall environment, using this knowledge to elevate our current infrastructure.

• Maintain an in-depth understanding of various networking systems and tools including Load Balancers and AWS.

• Responsible for keeping the current environment running smoothly while integrating new updates as we transition towards the cloud. Requirements

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role in software development and system administration

• Demonstrable knowledge and experience with AWS technologies

• Proficiency in automation of configuration management

• Familiarity with continuous integration (CI) and its implementation

• Proficiency in using Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC) to provide and manage infrastructure

• Experience in API management and its integration into software development

• Experience in using Helm for managing Kubernetes applications

• Familiarity with Jenkins for continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD)

• Proficient in cloud implementations and integrating them into existing systems

• Ability to work effectively in a team and independently

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
