BAE Systems Director II - Ethics & Business Conduct in Broomfield, Colorado

BAE Systems is hiring a Director II Ethics & Business Conduct to support our Space & Mission Systems (SMS) and Intelligence & Security (I&S) Sectors. The Director is responsible for leading and coordinating the ethics programs and processes. This position is responsible for leading and directing implementation of the Sector ethics and business conduct program and assuring consistency and compliance with the BAE Systems Global Code of Conduct and its core ethical principles. Working with the Leadership team, the incumbent will support the development and maintenance of an organizational culture in which integrity, honesty, and compliance with the letter and spirit of applicable legal, regulatory, and policy requirements that are guiding principles at all levels of the business.

What You ll Do:

  • Design, develop, and continually improve the Ethics Program.

  • Partner with other functions to ensure that the business objectives are achieved without compromising the commitment to act in accordance with BAE Systems Global Code of Conduct and its core ethical principles.

  • Interface with employees, managers, and leaders at all levels of the business as well as other employees across the BAE Systems enterprise.

  • Recruit, develop, and manage ethics managers and the local ethics officer network with an indirect reporting relationship across the enterprise to include locations outside the United States.

  • Lead the maintenance of Ethics Department resources and infrastructure (including responsibility for policies, handbooks, procedures, training, communication campaigns, and web content) which at times includes coordination with corporate initiatives.

  • Serve on the corporate working group and provide support for company-wide initiatives.

  • Manage the risk assessment and analysis process of metrics to continuously evaluate risk areas and priorities to guide new efforts.

  • Manage the development and implementation of corporate ethics and related training and communications across the sector.

  • Lead ethics investigations in matters of compliance and suspected misconduct across a geographically diverse and matrixed organization.

  • Coordinate investigatory findings with customer stakeholders (both internal and external including the U.S. Government) and enforcement authorities.

  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.

  • Perform other duties as necessary.

On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working four days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.

The primary work location for this role will be at BAE Systems SMS Sector headquarters in Broomfield, Colorado. Since this role is also responsible for the I&S Sector (headquartered in McLean, Virginia, with multiple locations throughout the United States), the travel required for this position will be 50%.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.

Subject to business performance and recommendations of management, this role may be eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree plus 12 or more years related experience.

  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.

  • Experience in Ethics and Business Conduct.

  • Experience in Conducting Investigations.

  • Experience in Program/Project Management.

  • Experience in People Management/Leadership.

  • Knowledge of Federal Sentencing Guidelines for organizations and Defense industry best practices.

  • Ability to lead intermediate projects in a team environment as well as manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Ability to manage several matters simultaneously with attention for detail.

  • Ability to influence senior leadership and advise on ethics principles.

  • Ability to negotiate internally with managers and functional areas.

  • Ability to manage and maintain electronic data (in a database), document large quantities of disparate data, and document and explain processes.

  • Analytical thought with the ability to resolve issues in a variety of complex situations with limited supervision.

  • Excellent collaboration and follow-through skills with the ability to work effectively across functional areas.

  • Excellent presentation and/or training skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills.

A security clearance or access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position. However, the applicant must be willing and eligible for submission, depending on program requirements, after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Master s Degree in Ethics.

  • Professional Certification in Ethics.

  • Experience in Organizational Ethics including, organizational development, change management, and employee engagement.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $154815 - $263185

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
