Intermountain Health Chargemaster Analyst II in Broomfield, Colorado

Job Description:

This position provides analysis and reports related to the budgeting, strategic planning, activity based costing, variance, patient accounts and operations data, and ad-hoc analysis processes which are used to ensure sound financial operations. This position provides decision support to management. Performs duties under initial close supervision, then after training performs routine tasks with general review.

Details:

1.Assists with monitoring site charge description masters to ensure compliance withFederal and State regulations, including understanding and applying outpatient prospective payment system (CMS-OPPS) regulations and accurate charge master coding when applicable.

  1. Assists with proper maintenance of charge master/fee schedules and related functions with Charge Description Master (CDM) Team and in EPIC. Reviews regulation updates (quarterly/annually) and applies knowledge by making appropriate changes to the CDM when indicated to maintain compliance. Reviews provider manuals and/or contracts and updates the CDM as appropriate.

  2. Responsible for daily review of assigned Work queues (WQ). Complete appropriate correction to patient accounts. Responsible for data entry, billing/audit questions, facility inquires, education, database maintenance and resolution of WQs.

  3. Support revenue producing departments, business office, HIM, managed care, and compliance constituents on related charge master and charge capture issues.

  4. Assists with testing in EPIC build as needed. Updates, maintains, and reviews charge navigators in Epic.

  5. Promotes mission, vision, and values of SCL Health, and abides by service behavior standards.

  6. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Required

Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience is required

Preferred

Bachelors' Degree in Business, Health Information Management, or healthcare related field is preferred

Two (2) years healthcare charge master, compliance, quality, revenue cycle, or finance related experience is preferred

  1. Analytical skills, customer service skills, strong verbal and written communication skills

  2. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

  3. Experience in EPIC; VitalWare. Knowledge of billing, reimbursement, compliance, regulations and CPT/HCPC codes.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$27.02 - $48.00
